Lately you’ve been interested in the tupperware (I was hoping we had skipped over the phase where most kids take all the pots and pans out of the cupboards). Anyways, this morning you were playing w/ the tupperware lids. You kept holding them up to your face, so I took it as an opportunity to teach you about colors. “Where’s the red one?”
I looked over to see what you were doing and you were sitting on the floor talking to the animals on your little bench. I don’t know what you were saying to them, but you were very animated and serious about it. LOL!
After you woke up from your nap, you wanted to watch ballroom dancing. Luckily I taped it the other day when we were watching it, b/c you have wanted to watch it a few times since then. When one dance is over you clap and then you turn and look at me and do the sign language sign for “more”, b/c you want me to fast forward through all of the commentary and get to the next dance. You had me put on your ballerina skirt and then you danced around w/ your babies. You crack me up. I’ll have to look into getting you into some dance classes when you’re a little older.
We went for a ride in the car to go get some Sonic drinks and mandarin chicken salads at Wendy’s. You were trying to sing along w/ the songs in the car and of course had to have a baby w/ you. You are so stinkin’ cute and kept saying “more” when you wanted a drink. I think you probably drank 1/2 of my drink, but I’m more than happy to share.

Today when you got up from your nap I was changing your diaper. You went to grab the new diaper just as I did, and the little tab on the side ripped. Diapers are expensive, so I decided you were still going to wear it, so I just taped it up w/ some black tape.

Tonight the weather was so nice (82 degrees) that we went out and ate dinner out by the pool. Papa brought home a fun treat for you…dates. You LOVE dates. These dates, however, weren’t pitted so Papa had to take out the pits for you.
You’ve been on a booger picking kick lately. You think it’s so funny when I say, “Eww! Gross!” You’ve even started coming over and trying to wipe your nose on me. SICK! You picked a booger and tried to go over and give it to Mimi and she freaked out and you thought you were so hilarious.
After sweeping you wanted to go and feed Gigi. You aren’t scared of her and all and she is finally starting to warm up to you. You just went and sat on the ground w/ Papa outside of her little dog house she stays in. You kept trying to feed her w/ your hand, but she wanted a lot more than what your little hand could hold, so she went straight for what was in the pan.
After that, it was time to head over to the fort. Papa said you fell off the stairs the other day while you were out there playing, so now he is putting some hand rails on there! You are the most loved little girl ever, and you have Papa wrapped around your little finger.
After that, it was over to the garden. You took Papa’s finger and led him in there. Then you took Mimi’s finger and led her into the garden. Then you came and got my finger and led me into the garden. You can’t go anywhere w/out your little entourage. You were so cute and helped Papa to pick some onions.
After your bath you proved even more that you have Papa wrapped around your little finger. You got him to give you a foot/leg massage w/ lotion. You are such a lotion fiend. I am so glad that you are surrounded by so many adults that love you so much. I hope someday you realize and appreciate how great we have it.

Tonight after daycare/work you demanded that you be allowed up on the counter. I’ll usually let you sit up on the counter while I am getting dinner ready, b/c otherwise you are holding onto my legs and I almost trip. I soon found out the main reason you wanted to get up on the counter…you wanted to smell the roses.
Lately when we go pick Alison up in the morning, I’ve had the same CD in the car. One day you were super fussy, so while we waited for Alison to come out, I put on the song “Don’t Know Why I Didn’t Come” by Norah Jones. I reached back and held your hand and sang it to you, and it calmed you right down and you actually tried singing along w/ me after a while. So, that is now “our song”. As soon as we pull into Alison’s driveway, you start grunting, which I have come to figure out means you want me to play “our song” and you always insist that I reach back and hold your hand and sing it to you.
Tonight I was messing w/ my laptop and you wanted my attention, so you kept coming over and grabbing my hand from typing. I have itunes on my laptop, so I decided to play “our song” and you stood on the table while munching on some Pringles and you and I danced to “our song”. It was exactly what I needed after a rough day. You bring me such happiness and joy and unconditional love.

Sorry this picture is grainy, but it was too cute not to post. Papa & Uncle Nick went and picked you up early from daycare. You were outside working w/ Papa in the front yard when I got home from work, and you came RUNNING across the grass towards me. It made my rotten day just melt away and I was SO HAPPY to see you.
After working in the yard w/ Papa it was time to go play on the fort. You usually like going down the slide, but for some reason you weren’t wanting to tonight. You wanted to play hide-n-go-seek w/ Papa instead.
You were REALLY unhappy when Papa made you swing w/ him. I don’t know why, but for some reason you have always hated swinging. Most kids love it, but not you. But then again, you are not like most kids.
Another way you are not like most kids is that you have interesting tastes in food. You love to eat veggies, dates, Vietnamese food, and now grapefruit! How many 2 year olds would consider it a treat to sit and eat a grapefruit?
Tonight you learned a new trick. I was in doing dishes when all of a sudden the light went off. I came around the corner and this is what I saw…you had gone and gotten your step stool out of the bathroom and had pulled it over to the light switches! You are so stinkin’ smart!
