Today we made a little bit of history. The pink dress you are wearing used to be mine when I was a little girl just your age. I had my picture taken it in when I was the age you are now. Great Grandma Ruth had it in her sea-chester (that's what we used to say for cedar chest when we were little and didn't know how to say it). She gave it to me when you were born for me to keep now. Well, for the past couple of weeks I've really been wanting to get a picture of you in it. So, I finally dug around in all of my boxes in the garage to find it and then I tore the house apart last weekend to find the picture of me in the dress. I finally found it and decided that this was the week.
(I look like crap b/c I am sick with a runny nose and watery eyes, but we can pretend it's b/c I've been crying b/c I'm so happy to see you in my dress).
WalMart was having a special on pictures, so we went over to get your pictures taken there. It was a ZOO, and we had to wait for a while since we didn't have an appointment. We went to see if they had some white patent leather shoes to match the ones I was wearing in the original picture, but they didn't have any. They still weren't ready for us, so we got something to eat to kill some time. Then it was finally time so we got you changed and ready to go.
While we were waiting, they had some little scenes in the lobby, so we snapped a few pics, but you weren't being super cooperative. But that's ok, b/c you did great for the professional pictures. You got fussy towards the end, but I think we got some great shots.
While we were there, we also got some pics of you in your new pretty Easter dress from Grammy Lisa. The professional ones are so cute, but these ones we did at home will just have to work until we get the nice ones back.
I am so lucky that you're such a happy and easy going baby. I also have to admit that I'm so glad that you are a girly girl and like to dress up. You really are my little princess.
