WOAH! What a day! Dad and I got up and went to church today. Then at 4 pm Dad had his disciplinary council with the stake president and stake high council. It was a scary thing to look forward to, but we knew it had to happen in order for us to repent and be able to go to the temple as a family. He went in and I sat in the stake president’s office to wait. All of a sudden I started feeling really sick. I went to the bathroom and ended up throwing up. Then my chest started to hurt REALLY badly. Right under my xyphoid process there was a pain and I couldn’t breathe. I was SUPER scared. I didn’t know what to do. So I knocked on the door and asked Bishop Brown to come out and told him I needed him to take me to the hospital.
We got in his car and he rushed me over to LDS hospital. He went fast and even ran a stop sign. I got into the ER and to make a long story short, I had gall stones. They sent me to get an ultrasound of my gall bladder, and while I was there on the table, in walked President Richards. He is a general surgeon and came to check on me after they were done with Dad. The ER doc had them do an ultrasound on you, too, to make sure everything was OK. That was neat to see how much you had grown and how big you were getting. You weren’t just a little bean anymore. I could pick out features and arms and legs. It was neat.
I went back to my room in the ER and Dad came in. He ended up being excommunicated, which was sad, but he was very calm about it and said it’s what needs to happen for us to become an eternal family. They determined I was OK to go home, but that I needed to have my gall bladder removed!
