I had my first OB/GYN appointment today. I kind of put it off, b/c I’ve never used insurance before and wasn’t sure how it worked. But I talked to the HR guy at work and he told me how it works, so I set up an appointment with someone I found on my insurance website that was in my network and is close to the apartment. Her name is Andrea Hebert (pronounced A-Bear). I didn’t know if she was good or not, but didn’t want to put off being seen by a doctor any longer. Everyone kept telling me I needed to get to a dr. ASAP. However, they won’t even see you until you’re 10-12 weeks along. So, it ended up working out perfectly.
We found out that you are due to come into this world on Jan. 12, 2007, but we’ll see if that really happens. She did a pap smear, some blood work, etc. She even did a little ultrasound, and I started crying to be able to see you for the first time! It was so COOL! You just looked like a little bean, but you were moving around like crazy. I told Dad that you are our “little Mexican jumping bean.” Dad said, “Ziggy better not be Mexican!” It was super funny. So we decided you are a Ponca jumping bean. :) We also got to hear your heart beat and it was just such a neat experience to actually see you and realize you are growing in my body.
